Terms & Conditions

These conditions of sale (“the conditions”) supplied by gallery1984 (“the company”) of 29 Kings Mill Road, Driffield, East Riding of Yorkshire, YO25 6TT (“the company’s address”) to a purchaser (“the buyer”) shall be incorporated into each contract (“the contract”) made by the company for the sales of the company’s goods (“the goods”). The company contracts upon such terms as are agreed between the company and the buyer.

Carriage and Packaging

The prices stated do not include delivery.

All prices shall be stated by the company unless otherwise agreed in writing. Any discounts or “special offers” displayed will only be applicable at time of display.

Online purchases require payment in full, as do all bespoke orders. We accept payment via Paypal. We do not accept cheques (personal or company)

Delivery, Examination and Claims

All orders are handmade and the items are built with reclaimed wood. Therefore any imperfections are to be expected and no two items will be exactly the same. We personally love the imperfections in the wood and wouldn’t want it any other way. This gives each piece character and a story to tell for years to come. The company will endeavour to complete delivery on or before any delivery dates that have been requested by the buyer or estimated by the company. The company will not be obliged to offer any compensation for disappointment suffered.

If the company cannot complete delivery due to discontinuation of goods then any sum paid by the buyer will be refunded and the seller will notify the buyer at the address given on the order form. The refund will be made as soon as possible and, in any event, within 30 days of the order. The company will not be obliged to offer any compensation for disappointment suffered.

The buyer must ensure that gallery1984 is given the correct delivery address upon purchase of goods. We reserve the right to apply a second delivery charge to redeliver your order to the correct address.

The buyer shall accept mutually arranged delivery. If you are not at home for a pre-arranged delivery then we reserve the right to apply a second delivery charge to redeliver your order. If you wish to change the delivery date once it is agreed then please give us no less than 72 hours’ notice prior to delivery.

The buyer shall upon delivery examine the goods and shall promptly (in any event within 7 days of delivery) notify in writing or via email the company, where appropriate, of any apparent damage, defect or shortages.

Guarantee and Warranty

Our products are suitable for normal domestic use, and are not guaranteed for commercial use unless requested on order. All customers must comply with the care instructions provided on our website.

Cancellation and Returns

Upon receipt of the goods, the buyer has 14 days in which they can choose to cancel the order and return the goods for a full refund, excluding the delivery charge (for UK mainland deliveries only). This complies with the consumer protection (distance selling) regulations 2000, under these terms you as the customer have a duty of care for the product whilst it is in your possession. The customer must make the goods available for collection within 14 days of cancellation, and take reasonable care of any items until collection. This does not apply to items made to the customers own specifications. If products are damaged by you and subsequently returned, a charge will be made to repair the product to its original condition. Please be aware that where repair is not economically viable no refund will be made. Furthermore, should items be returned damaged further and/or missing parts, no refund will be made.  Refunds can only be made by the same method used for the purchase.

All drawings, descriptions, illustrations, weight and dimensions given in the company’s catalogues, price lists or other advertising matter are approximate and intended for general guidance purposes only. They may be subject to change without prior notice to the buyer.
